Prince Edward to visit Manchester today ahead of Queen's funeral

Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex are arriving in Manchester today to pay tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth.

The couple attended the Queen's procession and lying-in-state ceremony at Westminster Hall yesterday, September 14th alongside the rest of the royal family.

Today, the Queen's youngest son is expected to view Manchester's book of condolence at Manchester's Central Library.

The royal couple will be greeted by Council Leader Bev Craig, Lord Mayor of Manchester Counciller Donna Ludford and Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester Diane Hawkins before being escorted around the city.

They will also travel to Manchester Cathedral to light a candle in memory of the late Queen and view the floral tributes in St Ann's Square.
