Ahead of its big opening in 2020, we’re being given a sneak peak of Manchester Airport's new Terminal 2 extension.

The next phase of the £1bn development is due to open next summer.

It’s one of the biggest construction projects in the UK at the minute and is promised to "transform the experience for our passengers and airlines alike".

The project is nearing completion - and since construction began in 2017 it has cost an average of £800,000 a day.

It'll have a new departure lounge with 37 new shops and restaurants, as well as a state of the art security hall.

CEO of Manchester Airport Andrew Cowan told us local workers are already benefiting from new jobs in construction - with more aviation roles being created as the airport expands.
