Police have launched a crackdown on organised crime in Stockport, executing thirteen arrest warrants during a late night drug swoop.

Police have launched a crackdown on organised crime in Stockport, executing 13 arrest warrants during a late night drug swoop.
12 of the accused have been arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs and one has been arrested on suspicion of cannabis possession.
All remain in police custody for further questioning.
Detective Inspector Dave Turner of Challenger Stockport said: “These arrests are part of an ongoing operation targeting organised crime and drug dealing in the Stockport area.
“It is another example of how police are determined to come out on top when it comes to drugs within the community. Local residents regularly tell us it is something they do not want to see in their neighbourhood and I hope this latest action proves we act on our word.
“I would like to thank the people in Stockport for their continued support and reiterate that we will continue our work to obliterate the trade of drugs in the area.”
