Police looking to find victim of suspected stabbing in Warrington

A witness reported seeing a man tell a group he'd been stabbed in Manchester Road

Detectives investigating reports of a serious assault in Warrington are appealing for information from members of the public.

At around 10:50pm on Tuesday 29 August, a man approached a member of the public on Manchester Road, Warrington. The man asked for help and said that he had been stabbed.

The witness says the victim fled after a group of men ran towards the area, from the direction of Sainsbury’s.

Detectives working on the case have been unable to identify or locate the victim to establish the full story.

Detectives are urging the victim – or anybody with information – to come forward to police.

Detective Sergeant Victoria Tait says they are particularly keen to hear from any motorists who may have been in the area and captured the incident on dashcam footage.

The incident is believed to be an isolated incident and enquiries are underway.

Anybody with information that may be relevant to the investigation are being encouraged to call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting case number IML 1632748. Information can also be submitted anonymously via Crimestoppers.
