Police investigation launched after man found dead in Collyhurst
Detectives are asking local residents to think if they saw anything 'out of the ordinary'
Detectives are investigating after a man was found dead in Collyhurst.
Shortly after 1.15pm on Sunday (22nd July) police were called to reports that a man was dead at a property on Hamerton Road.
Officers attended and found the body of a man believed to be in his 50s.
A scene has been established around Hamerton Road while officers carry out their enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Larkin of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “We are only a few hours into our investigation into this man’s death and our enquiries are very much ongoing.
“People in the area will see additional officers, some who are there doing extra patrols, while others visit houses and scour CCTV in the area, to establish how this man died.
“As this only happened a short time ago, it’s likely that someone who was around Hamerton Road or the surrounding area, may remember seeing something that stood out from the ordinary.
“If you have information that you think could help our investigation - please- do the right thing and contact police as soon as you can.
“While we cannot bring this man back, we can help give his family the answers they deserve at this devastating time.
