Police treating Gorton triple stabbing as a domestic incident
A woman's dead and two others have suffered life-threatening injuries
Detectives investigating a triple stabbing in Gorton say they're treating it as a domestic incident.
It happened on Barnard Road on Sunday night (18th August).
Three people, a 17-year-old girl, a 43-year-old woman and 64-year-old man had all suffered serious injuries.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services, a 43-year-old woman passed away from her injuries at the scene. The two others remain in hospital for treatment, their injuries are believed to be life-threatening at this time.
A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene, and at this stage, we are not looking to identify anyone else. He is in police custody.
Whilst our investigation is in the early stages, we do believe that this was a domestic incident.
Our specialist Family Liaison Officers are providing support to the family at this time, and we have a team of detectives working around the clock to understand what led to this tragic incident.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Adrian Girtchen said:
“We can feel the shock waves that this incident has sent through the local community, who either witnessed this attack, or woke this morning to hear the tragic news. Many of you may know the family, and our thoughts and wishes remain with them and everyone who has been affected.
