Peter Kay has cancelled all of his 2018 and 2019 tour dates as well as all other live commitments due to 'unforeseen circumstances'.
The Bolton comic announced the news on his Twitter feed.
He was due to play more than 100 shows around the country, including 22 dates at Manchester Arena and 3 at Manchester Central.
Here's the statement he posted on social media:
The news comes weeks after Kay added extra performance dates to all listed cities, following huge public demand.
Shortly after tickets for the initial 26 gigs went on sale in November, he tripled the line-up of events.
Announcing his return to the stage, he said: I really miss it. I know how lucky I am to be making television series and have really loved these past few years working on Car Share, but I miss doing stand-up.
"As terrifying as it is, when it works there's nothing more fun and exciting. Plus, a lot has happened in the last eight years, with Trump, Twitter and my Nan getting her front bush trimmed at the age of 96.
"I can't wait to get back up on stage.'
Anyone who has tickets will be refunded from their original point of purchase and any specific ticket queries should be directed to through them.
