Beloved Bolton comedian Peter Kay is returning to the stage for the first time in three years - in two special charity shows.

The Q+As at Manchester O2 Apollo in August are to raise money for Laura Nuttall, a 21 year old from Lancashire with a brain tumour.

Kay announced the shows on his Twitter this morning.

Laura's story

Manchester University student Laura was diagnosed with brain cancer in Autumn 2018 when she was just 18.

She was given a prognosis of roughly 12 months and told to go away and make memories. She bravely endured a craniotomy to remove the largest tumour and then started a gruelling program of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Laura's family found an innovative new immunotherapy treatment available only in Germany, which means the 21-year-old now travels to Cologne on a regular basis for treatment.

The proceeds from Kay's shows, both on Saturday 7th August, will go towards Doing It For Laura, which will help fund Laura's treatment.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 30th July.
