Pensioner shoved into River Mersey in Warrington
An 18 year old boy has been charged.

Police have charged an 18-year-old man in connection with an assault on a pensioner in Warrington.
Benjamin Bridgeman, of Yardley Avenue in Bewsey and Whitecross, has been charged with assault by beating. He has been bailed and will appear at Warrington Magistrates Court on 19 May.
The teenager was arrested on Wednesday 28 April after he attended a police station.
It's after a 74-year-old was pushed into the River Mersey on Sunday afternoon, while he was sitting on the river bank on Wharf Street, near Riverside Retail Park.
Two youths are believed to have pushed him from behind causing him to fall into the water.
They then ran away from him laughing.
The man then had to walk home, soaking wet and freezing cold, and told his family who reported the assault to the police.
A 15-year-old boy has also this morning (Thursday 29 April) attended a police station and been arrested on suspicion of assault. He is currently in custody for questioning.
A 15-year-old boy who was arrested on Wednesday 28 April has been released with no further action for the assault. He has been released under investigation for the offence of possession with intent to supply cannabis.
Sergeant Mark Spaven, of Warrington Local Policing Unit, said: “This was a shocking and upsetting incident which has understandably left the gentleman shaken.
“He returned home freezing cold and had sustained a cut to his face due to banging his head as he fell into the water.
