PCSO Injured After Firework Thrown In Ashton-under-Lyne

Published 10th Nov 2015

A Police Community Support Officer was injured after a firework was thrown at her.

It happened at around 7pm last Friday, the 6th of November.

The PCSO was patrolling the Blandford Street area of Ashton-under-Lyne when it was thrown at her.

It hit her arm, causing a puncture wound and bruising.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Inspector Cherie Dunn said:

“Thankfully her injuries were not more serious but understandably she has been left shaken by what happened.

“The majority of people enjoy Bonfire night and act in a responsible manner. Unfortunately, we will always get a minority who think it is funny to deliberately throw dangerous fireworks at people.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened to contact us so we can bring those responsible to justice.”
