PC taken to hospital after police car crash in Wythenshawe
Both police vehicles were following a suspected stolen vehicle at the time.
A police officer has been treated for minor injuries following a crash with another patrol car in Wythenshawe.
The incident, off the M56 Princess Parkway, happened yesterday at around 1.50pm, as two police vehicles followed a suspected stolen car.
The BMWs were involved in a collision when the vehicle they were pursuing took a sharp turn down onto a cycle path. One of the police cars hit a fence in the woodland - causing the other to career into the back of it.
As a result of the incident, five people have been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and burglary. Three men, in their 20s, a 19-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl are being held in police custody.
The officer who was injured in the crash has been given the all clear to return to work and is back on the beat.
