Part of Deansgate in Manchester closed due to serious incident
Police ask people to avoid the area

Part of Manchester's Deansgate has been closed off by police after a serious incident in the early hours of this morning.
GMP City Centre has tweeted to say it's happened between John Dalton Street and Quay Street / Peter Street. The road is closed both ways and is now a crime scene, with John Dalton Street & Bridge Street also closed off at the junction of Deansgate.

City Centre Councillor Pat Karney says he expects Deansgate to be closed for quite some time.
