Paramedic who 'tutted' and 'rolled her eyes' at a patient has been struck off
A disciplinary panel told Helen Middleham she was 'dishonest' and 'incompetent'
A North West Ambulance Service paramedic has been struck off, after she was found to be 'dishonest' and 'lack competence'.
The disciplinary tribunal heard Helen Middleham allegedly told a woman who was suffering with chest pains to stop being 'dramatic' and “you would have had to have no arms and legs to have so much pain” and/or “not to be so dramatic, you wouldn’t have been able to walk to the ambulance if it was that”.
She was accused of falsifying the patients pain level in the Record Form, she denied it but admitted she had made a mistake.
Several months later, another complaint was made against her, this time that she did not accurately assess a heavily pregnant woman, that she did not offer her transport to the hospital and that she did not inform the maternity unit the woman would be on the way.
The disciplinary panel said her actions were dishonest, constituted misconduct and showed a lack of competence.
Again, she was accused of falsely filling out a Patient Record Form.
The disciplinary panel said her actions were dishonest, lacked competence and were a clear case of misconduct.
