Man left seriously injured following assault at pub in Northwich

The man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries in the wake of the attack

A man has been seriously injured following an assault at a pub in Northwich in the early hours of Saturday morning (October 11th).

Cheshire Police were alerted to an incident taking place at the Quayside pub on Witton Street just after 12:10am.

Officers were called to the scene and found the victim, a 36-year-old man on the ground following the altercation that broke out in the bar area.

The victim was eventually taken to hospital by emergency services to be treated for serious head injuries.

Currently, the man remains in hospital receiving treatment and police have described his condition as being stable.

The force are now appealing to the public to help locate the suspect who fled the scene after the altercation.

The suspect has been described by the force as being a white man, aged 18-30, with short dark hair.

Speaking on the case, Detective Sergeant Thomas Philpotts from Cheshire Police, said: "The victim has suffered serious injuries, which are likely to have a lasting impact, and we are committed to doing all we can to achieve justice.

“The Quayside was extremely busy at the time of the incident, and I would urge anyone who was in the premises and witnessed the incident to come forward to aid our investigation. "
