A Manchester singer and songwriter is using her music to highlight the real-life stories of heroic people.
Mica Millar is launching the "Defender Campaign" on International Women's Day to celebrate those who have stepped up to help a stranger or a vulnerable person.
She's been collecting stories of random acts of kindness in the hope it will inspire others "not to be a bystander."
The lyrics to her new single "The Defender" - which has been 10 years in the making - has been inspired by some of the stories she has collected and prompted her to start the campaign:
The first story - released today as part of International Women's Day - is about Sarah who was kidnapped and taken to Yemen before being forced into an arranged marriage.
She was saved and reunited with her mum after a woman stepped in to help her.
Mica is now on the lookout for more stories like this to form part of a documentary she's producing later this year.
Mica's new single "The Defender" is out on 4th April and can be heard at launch shows at Band on The Wall in Manchester on 4th April, Leaf on Bold Street in Liverpool on 8th April and The Wardrobe in Leeds on 10th April.
