Manchester Schools' CPR Training

Published 16th Oct 2015

School kids across our region are getting lessons in saving lives with CPR thanks to a new campaign by the British Heart Foundation.

A survey shows most people are too worried about helping someone who's having a cardiac arrest and would be reluctant to get involved.

From today thousands of pupils across Greater Manchester and Cheshire are being taught how to give a heart massage.

The British Heart Foundation is working in conjunction with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue.

41 Fire Stations across Greater Manchester now offer CPR training to anyone who requests it.

Figures show more than 30-thousand people suffer a heart attack outside of hospital every year.

Key 103 reporter Justin Mottershead visited Byrchall High School in Wigan where pupils were being shown CPR.
