Manchester Airport hits back as it is named WORST in UK
Terminals 1 and 3 came last in a survey of 5,000 passengers conducted by consumer group Which?
Manchester Airport has hit back at a survey, which named Terminals 1 and 3 the worst in the UK.
Passengers complained of long queues and a poor choice of shops, in Which?'s annual survey.
The consumer group said: "Older people, who wouldn’t normally think of themselves as needing Special Assistance, told us they struggled with long walks past travelators that have been broken since 2021.
"Other passengers complained about the difficulties of finding a seat."
In a damning verdict, Which? said: "Avoid if you can".
But airport bosses have hit back, accusing the group of "letting customers down" with "over-simplified judgements".
A spokesperson said: "“Manchester Airport is proud to give people in all parts of the North easy and affordable access to nearly 200 different destinations across the world.
"We know our nearly 30m passengers value the fact we make it possible for them to fly directly to places they otherwise wouldn't be able to, whether that is for business or leisure, to study or visit friends and family."
Liverpool John Lennon Airport was named the best in the UK by Which? for the second year running, while London City and Norwich came second and third.
