United and City blistering start to the season continued this week as the Reds and Blues romped home in the Champions League to stay top of their respective groups.

On Tuesday City defeated Shakhtar Donetsk 2-0 thanks to goals from Kevin De Bruyne and the in-form Raheem Sterling.

The result leaves City three points clear at the top of Group F having won both their opening matches.

Not to be outdone by their local rivals, United produced a performance Jose Mourinho labelled the best away performance by any team he’s managed before in an away match as the Reds cruised past CSKA Moscow 4-1 with a Romelu Lukaku brace and goals from Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan putting the visitors on the back foot.

The win keeps United top of Group A, three points clear of FC Basel.

It means both United and City remain unbeaten both domestically and in Europe, with the Blues top of the Premier League on goal difference ahead of United.

This weekend in the Premier League the Blues face a tough trip to Chelsea while the Reds host Crystal Palace.
