Man 'stable' in hospital after early hours stabbing in Bury
Police say enquiries are ongoing to work out exactly what happened
A man in his 40s is in a stable condition in hospital following a stabbing in Bury town centre in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called to Silver Street just before 4am following report of an incident. Officers turned up to find the victim with a thigh wound. He was then taken to hospital.
Greater Manchester Police say they're now trying to work out exactly what happened.
A GMP spokesperson said: "At 3.54am this morning (10 September), police were called to a report of an incident on Silver Street, Bury.
"Officers attended and a man in his 40s was located nearby with a puncture wound to his thigh. He was taken to hospital where he remains in stable condition.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and identify the offender.
"Anyone with information, or anyone who witnessed this incident, or may have dashcam/CCTV footage, is asked to contact Bury CID on 0161 856 8562 / 0161 856 8213 quoting log number 567 of the 10th September 2022.
