Man dies in motorbike crash on Mottram Moor

A man has sadly died after the motorbike he was riding crashed on a main road in Tameside.

The incident happened just after 10.15pm last night (8 May 2022), when police were called to a report of a road traffic collision involving a black motorbike on Mottram Moor.

A 35-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and specialist officers are supporting them at this time.

PC Phillip Collingwood, from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family who are understandably devastated at the loss of their loved one and we’re doing all we can to get the family the answers they need.

“I would ask anyone with information or anyone who may have seen the black motorcycle prior to the collision to get in touch.
