Man in stable condition after Manchester stabbing
A man's in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
A man's in a stable condition in hospital after a stabbing in Manchester.
It happened in the Longsight area on Slade Lane on Friday night, which left a man in his 20s with a stab wound to his chest.
The victim, who was taken to hospital in a critical condition remains there, however, he is now stable.
A man in his 50s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder remains in police custody.
Police are following several lines of enquiry but would like to appeal to the public who may have vital information or footage.
Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the area that evening, or who perhaps lives on Slade Lane or the surrounding area and has CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage.
Detective Inspector Helen Bagnall from our City of Manchester division said:
“This incident is undoubtedly a concerning one for the community that live and work in that area.
“I want to reassure everyone, that we are following every line of enquiry that we have, and we are continuing to question a man who was arrested at the scene shortly after the incident took place.
“Officers have been deployed to the area to provide reassurance to the community, we ask and encourage the public to speak to our officers and support us in investigating this incident by sharing any information they may have and to raise any questions or concerns with us.
"Public trust and confidence is two of our highest priorities and any assistance from the community is greatly appreciated.
“Violence has no place on our streets and I would urge anyone with information that will help enquiries to make a report to us.”
