A woman is in hospital with life-changing injuries after being stabbed in Tameside.
Emergency services were called to an address on Grosvenor Road, Hyde at around 11pm on Friday.
Whilst officers were inside the property taking witness accounts, another woman was stabbed there.
She was rushed to hospital where she remains in a stable condition, having suffered life-changing juries.
A 27-year-old man is being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder.
The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct because of previous contact.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 11pm on Friday 28 June 2024, we were called to Grosvenor Road in Hyde due to the concern for the welfare of a woman.
"After our officers attended and were later taking witness accounts, another woman was stabbed inside the property. Following treatment, she is thankfully now in a stable condition but with injuries believed to be life changing.
"A 27-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody for questioning at this time.
"Following previous police contact, in-line with normal procedure, the matter has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct."
