Man electrocuted at Piccadilly station was from Manchester
Investigation continues
British Transport Police are continuing to investigate the death of a man at Manchester's Piccadilly train station on Friday night.
Emergency services were called at around 11pm on Friday night following reportsa man had climbed on top of a train and had been electrocuted.
Horrified passengers witnessed the incident.
Services to and from the station had to be cancelled as power to the overhead lines had to be turned off whilst the fire service and paramedics responded.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “The incident is not been treated as suspicious and a full report will be provided to the coroner to determine the circumstances around his death.
