Man dies in Boxing Day collision in Manchester

Police are investigating after a man died following a collision in Manchester.

At around 10.30pm on Wednesday 26 December 2018 police were called to Oxford Road in Manchester to reports that a white Mini had collided with a 70-year-old man.

Police and Ambulance Services attended and the man was taken to hospital but he sadly died a short time later as a result of his injuries.

Enquiries are now ongoing into the circumstances of the collision and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Police Sergeant Darren Hancock from GMP’s serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “My thoughts are with the man’s family at this terrible time, we have specially trained officers supporting them and we are doing all that we can to give them the answers they deserve.

“We are appealing for anyone who was in the area last night and saw the incident, or may have dash-cam footage to get in touch as soon as possible.”
