Man dies following crash in Wigan
Accident happened in the Scholes area this morning
Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man sadly died following a road traffic collision on Scholes, Wigan, at around 6am today (Friday 23 February 2024).
It is believed that the man, 66, was travelling South West bound on Scholes, towards Wigan town centre, before coming off the road and colliding with bollards and a wall.
The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
