Man dies following crash on M67 near Denton roundabout

Another man is being treated for serious injuries

Officers were called to a serious road traffic collision on the M67, A57 at around 11pm on Tuesday 2 July 2024.

A Jaguar XF was travelling westbound on the M67 towards the Manchester Road South junction where a Toyota Prius was stationary at the lights before the collision occurred.

Both drivers were taken to Hospital where they received treatment; however, the Jaguar driver, a 72-year-old man sadly passed away a couple of days later.

The Toyota driver, a 37-year-old man suffered serious injuries and is continuing to receive treatment.

GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for information, including dashcam footage to help understand the full circumstances.

Detective Constable Sarah Seddon said; “We have conducted a number of lines of enquiry to ensure we can understand fully what happened.

“We are now able to appeal to the public and especially anyone who was in the immediate area and witnessed what happened late at night as that vital bit of evidence will help us in our investigation.

“The loved ones of the driver who sadly passed are receiving the support they need at this time, with the other driver continuing to assist us as he recovers.”
