Man dies after being hit by tram in Wythenshawe

A 29-year-old man has died after being struck by a tram in south Manchester.
Police were called to Poundwick Lane, Wythenshawe at around 8:25pm yesterday evening.
The driver of the tram stayed at the scene following the collision.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “At around 8:25pm last night (Friday 13 January 2023), officers were called to reports of a collision involving a tram and a pedestrian.
"Sadly when emergency services attended the scene, the 29-year-old male pedestrian had passed away.
"The driver remained at the scene to assist officers enquiries.”
