A man has been charged with offences including throwing fireworks in a street after protests ahead of Manchester United's game on Sunday.
28-year-old Michael Anthony James Cusker, of Winstanley Road, Manchester has been charged with throwing fireworks in a street, use of threatening behaviour and wilful obstruction of the highway.
Greater Manchester Police say the charge relates to a protest at The Lowry Hotel.
He has been bailed ahead of a court appearance at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on 25 May 2021.
The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct to ensure complete transparency and independence in this investigation.
United's match against Liverpool was eventually called off after around two hundred fans invaded the stadium to protest against the club's owners.
