A London man has been charged after an alleged stabbing in Manchester's Piccadilly Gardens last week.

20 year old Isaac Francis, of Wormholt Road, is accused of assault and possession of a bladed article.

He was remanded in custody and appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court earlier today.

A 15 year old boy, who can't be named for legal reasons, has been charged with public order offences and will appear in court tomorrow.

It comes after a man in his 20s suffered stab wounds in the Piccadilly Gardens area last Monday afternoon.
