Wigan woman's death: 'we're no longer treating it as murder'

Detectives investigating the death of a woman in Wigan over the weekend say they aren't treating it as murder anymore.

Detectives investigating the death of a woman in Wigan over the weekend say they aren't treating it as murder anymore.

They're released an updated statement, saying:

"A man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released without charge.

"At around 8.20pm on Saturday 22 July 2017, police were called to Thomas Street in Hindley Green, Wigan, by the North West Ambulance Service after they had been called out to the sudden death of a 28-year-old woman.

"A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder, however he has now been released without charge.

"A Home Office post mortem took place today and the cause of the woman's death is no longer believed to be suspicious."
