Man, 23, arrested after teenage girl raped in Salford
Police say the girl is being supported by specially trained officers
A man has been arrested by police investigating a sex attack on a girl in Salford.
At around 4am on Sunday 28 July, officers received reports that a teenage girl had been raped in woodland near the Old River in Irlam.
A 23-year-old man is being questioned on suspicion of rape.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At 4am this morning, we received reports that a teenage girl had been raped in a woodland area near the River Irwell Old Course in Irlam.
"She is being supported by specially trained officers. A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape. He remains in police custody for questioning."
