The M60 has reopened, more than 12 hours after a lorry crashed through the central barrier of the motorway.

Drivers on two of Greater Manchester's busiest roads faced long delays after the crash, which happened on Thursday night (20 March).

The HGV collided with six other vehicles before going up an embankment between J15 for the M61 and J16 for Swinton.

The M60 was closed in both directions at around 19:00 on Thursday, and as of Friday morning, has only reopened anti-clockwise.

It is understood at least one person has been taken to hospital and paramedics treated four other people injured in the crash.

Their conditions are not known.
