A schoolboy from Audenshaw is celebrating today after scooping a gong at last night's BAFTA's

Dylan Naden, 13, starred in the short film 'Cowboy Dave' which walked away with the Best Short Film nod at last night's ceremony.

Speaking to Key103, Dylan said it was a 'mad' night:

"As soon as she called our name, I thought it was crazy. I got up and I was wobbling all over the place, I just lost feeling in my legs.

When we got on stage it all started to sink in and I just didn't know what to do or say."

Dylan only took up acting three years ago, after his mum asked him if he wanted to try drama lessons.

Before being cast in Cowboy Dave, Dylan had only been in a minor role in a BBC drama.

The Audenshaw School pupil plays Little Paul in the film, his character has a chance encounter with a down on his luck musician.

The short was shot in Trafford, and was directed by Manchester-born director Colin O'Toole.

During his acceptance speech he thanked the cast and crew, including Dylan, for the success of the film.

The former Manchester Metropolitan University student, who grew up in Burnage, told the BAFTA audience:

“Cowboy Dave is a film about the choices we make, some good some bad. But it’s also a film about inspiration and hope and if you’re a girl and a boy out there from a working class background like me all I have to say to you is look, film is not an impossible dream."
