Witnesses reported a loud bang after Ariana Grande's gig on Monday night

Late on Monday night reports came in of an 'explosion' outside Manchester Arena, which occurred just after an Ariana Grande gig had finished.

Videos on Twitter appear to show how a loud bang was heard as fans were beginning to leave the arena which has a capacity of 21,000.

Our reporter Amy Scarisbrick was at the scene all evening and told Key 103's Darryl Morris how it felt in Manchester in the hours following the incident,

"The streets of Manchester are just silent, eerie, ghost town-like," she explained.

She went on to say how she witnessed a controlled explosion on a suspicious item which thankfully turned out to be 'abandoned clothing' on Cathedral Garden.

At the time of writing Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have confirmed that 22 people have sadly lost their lives and 59 people have been injured.
