Investigation launched after shots fired in Moston
A number of vehicles sped away from the scene on Caledon Avenue last Friday night
Police are appealing for information after shots were fired in Moston.
Shortly after 10.50pm on Friday 11 January 2019, officers were called to reports of gun shots heard on Caledon Avenue in Moston.
Officers attended and found two spent bullet casings at the scene.
There were no reports of injuries.
Following enquiries, it has been established that an unknown man ran south east around the corner of Romney Street onto Caledon Avenue holding a firearm in his right hand with his arm outstretched.
Two bangs were heard and as he fired the second shot a small red car, believed to be a Ford Fiesta, came around the corner from the same direction as him.
The car pulled up and the man got into the passenger seat before the vehicle drove away at speed along Lisburn Road.
It is believed that a second, black car was also involved, and also sped away onto Lisburn Road.
From there, it is believed both vehicles turned right onto Bluestone Road before the vehicles split up.
The black vehicle turned onto Kenyon Lane. The red vehicle went straight ahead onto Lily Lane.
Both of these vehicles were followed on Bluestone Road by a third, small hatchback-type car, believed to be dark in colour with blacked-out rear windows.
