Hundreds told about partner's violent history
Clare's Law
Last updated 7th Sep 2017
It's five years since KEY 103's Clare's Law was rolled out across Greater Manchester and this morning we can reveal in that time 628 people have been told their partner has a violent past.
We launched our campaign in Summer 2011 after Salford mum Clare Wood was murdered by her ex-boyfriend who had a history of violence that she didn't know about.
It was first rolled out as a pilot scheme across four areas including Greater Manchester - before being passed as law across England, Wales and Scotland.
Figures show one in three applications now made to police result in a disclosure.
