Teenager charged after woman dies following Wigan hit and run

A teenager has been charged in connection with a hit and run collision in Wigan on Friday night (8th April) which killed a woman and injured two others.

The woman in her 40s was standing with two men outside a pub on Ormskirk Road, Pemberton when a car crashed into them.

The two male pedestrians were seriously injured. A second male who was also arrested has been released under investigation.

Jacob Gaskell (09/04/03), of Malborough Avenue, Ince has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, whilst disqualified, whilst unlicensed/ uninsured, serious injury by dangerous driving, whilst disqualified and failing to stop.

He has been remanded in custody until a hearing at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court today (Monday 11th April).
