Pep Guardiola today revealed that City’s owner Sheikh Mansour is pleased with his teams “effort” this season after his first meeting with the billionaire on the squads 3-day trip to Abu Dhabi.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the Blues FA cup replay against Huddersfield Town tomorrow night, Guardiola revealed he spoke personally with Sheik Mansour for the first time, revealing he was “impressed” by his knowledge of the club.

“He is so happy. He’s sees all the games and he sees the effort. He demands that and he knows we will fight till the end and it was really important to meet with him. It’s important that when the manager meets the owner we have the same objective, that is to get results in the best way possible.”

The team arrived back to snow in Manchester this morning a far cry from the heat in the United Arab Emirates, Guardiola stated the trip was “useful” as well as stressing the importance of the team arriving back without any injuries.

“We’re always together but we were together in a different place we found the sun. We were able to have dinner together and not talk too much about football, it was nice and no injures.”

City face off against hopeful Championship promotion candidates Huddersfield in a replay of their shock 0 – 0 result last time out at the John Smith’s Stadium. Guardiola and his team will be looking for a big result in what could be a crucial competition for City this season in their search for silverware.

City are missing new signing Gabriel Jesus who is out indefinitely as well as captain Vincent Kompany, Gael Clichy and Ilkay Gundogan however it’s expected for City to have too much talent for their lower league opponents.

Tomorrow’s kick-off is 7:45pm at the Etihad Stadium.
