Nearly 1000 homes in Greater Manchester are still without power after Storm Franklin

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue are warning that they're expecting to be dealing with flooding and extreme weather much more often.
It comes after three storms in a week, with the most recent, Storm Franklin, causing evacuations of 400 homes in South Manchester on Sunday night.
Following the storm, there are nearly 1000 homes that are still without power.
However, firefighters in Greater Manchester say they're expecting to be dealing with flooding and extreme weather much more often.
Ben Norman, Deputy Chief Fire Officer for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue, said: "We know we're going to see more flooding. Not just more flooding, but wild fires. In the spring and summer we're seeing large-scale moorland incidents and our view is that's what climate change is playing through and demonstrating into to to our sector.
"We've been pumping out flooded properties for many years, and we've been going to wild fires for many years, but we've not been seeing them on the scale and frequency we have seen over the most years. Certainly, our planning assumptions are that's only going to increase as we go forwards."
