The Great Manchester Run in pictures as thousands of pounds raised

Tens of thousands of runners have taken part in this years Great Manchester Run, raising thousands of pounds for good causes in the process.

Over 30,000 people took part, either completing the 10k fun run or even a half marathon.

The racers braced the elements of the changeable Manchester weather to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for various charity drives.

Supporters of the racers also lined the streets cheering them on and offering moral support throughout right up to the finish line.
