The Minister of State for Policing and the Fire Service is visiting the moors above Greater Manchester today.

Nick Hurd's being taken to the scene of this summer's wildfires near Tameside.

More than 100 firefighters spent weeks battling the blazes which officers believe were started by arsonists.

Mr Hurd's looking at the extent of the damage and thanking crews for their efforts.

He said:

"They are proud of what they've done, they had some critique and criticisms of the equipment they had or didn't have access to and they want that to addressed in the future but they were very glad to have me up here to show some support."
