Special Constable at Greater Manchester Police charged with rape

The 25-year-old is due to appear in court next month

A Special Constable at Greater Manchester Police has been charged with rape, in connection with an incident that happened in December 2019.

Daniel Carson, 25, was based within GMP's Rochdale division, and has now been suspended from duty.

Carson will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on 1st August.

Greater Manchester Police says 'misconduct proceedings will recommence upon conclusion of criminal proceedings'.
