Fourth teenager arrested following Bury Market triple stabbing
Three men were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries on Monday (March 11)
A fourth teenager has been arrested by police investigating a triple stabbing near Bury Market.
The 17-year-old boy was questioned on suspicion of violent disorder before being bailed on Tuesday night.
It follows the arrests of two other boys, aged 17 and 16, arrested on suspicion of violent disorder earlier the same day.
Both have been released under what police have described as "strict bail conditions".
Another 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of assault on Monday was released without charge.
Additional police patrols are continuing in the town, after an air ambulance was seen landing in a busy street.
Detective Chief Inspector Tom Willis from GMP’s Bury district said: “We understand incidents of this nature will be concerning to members of the community, and we are committed to bringing those responsible to justice.
“We have made four arrests and are doing everything we can to get to the bottom of what happened.
"Additional officers have been deployed around the area to support the community and I encourage members of the public to know that they can approach and talk to them.
“I would like to thank the community for their help and patience so far.
"We aim to always deliver outstanding public service and build public trust and confidence in Greater Manchester Police, and we hope the work we have done so far underlines those aims.”
Greater Manchester Police are continuing an appeal for witnesses.
