Four teenagers arrested in connection with robberies in Manchester city centre
Officers say they have made the arrests after a number of incidents in November
Four teenagers have been arrested by police investigating robberies in Manchester city centre.
GMP say the teens, aged 16 and 17, are being questioned on suspicion of robbery, affray and possession of offensive weapons.
It's after a number of robberies were reported to officers in and around the Village area of the city centre in November.
Inspector Kam Hare of GMP’s City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Personal robbery can have a huge effect on victims so I am pleased we have four suspects in custody.
“Robbery remains a top priority for our team, not just in the city centre but forcewide and we endeavour to arrest as many as possible who threaten our communities.
"The city centre is increasingly busy over the coming weeks and we want people to enjoy the festive period, so there will be an increase of highly visible patrols throughout the Christmas period to keep people safe."
Officers are continuing to investigate, and have asked for anyone who saw anything to contact them on 101.
