Four arrested in connection with shooting on car park of Swinton restaurant

Four people have been arrested in connection with a shooting on the car park of a restaurant in Swinton.

Officers carried out dawn raids in Pendleton, Irlam and Eccles as part of 'Operation Macaroni' which is investigating the shooting of a man outside Albert's Restaurant on East Lancashire Road.

The victim, 30, had just enjoyed a meal with friends on 4th February 2018 when he was targeted on the way back to his car at around 9pm.

He was taken to hospital with a serious gunshot wound to the leg and has since been discharged and continues to recover.

The shooter - who was dressed in dark clothing - fled the scene in silver Ford Focus

This morning, a 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

A 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis.

Superintendent Howard Millington, of GMP’s Salford borough, said: “We have been carrying out extensive enquiries into this shooting and we now have four people in custody being questioned by officers.

“I must stress our investigation does not stop here and we will continue to do everything we can to find those connected to this dangerous attack.

“I would continue to appeal to anyone with any information about it to please come forward to police.
