Football legend Pele joins Socceraid

Pele has been announced as the guest of honour for next month's Soccer Aid 2016 at Old Trafford.

Widely regarded as the best player of all time Pele won three World Cups with Brazil and has a host of awards and accolades to his name including holding the World Record for most career goals at an astonishing 1,283 goals in 1,363 games.

One Direction’s Niall Horan* **has also signed up for Soccer Aid and will join forces with Premier League winning Manager, Claudio Ranieri as Assistant Manager to the *Rest of the World.

The Irish singer-songwriter will go head to head with fellow bandmate, Louis Tomlinson who is playing for England.

Niall says: "It's an absolute honour to be asked to be involved with such a fantastic charity and this game has become a major event on the calendar for the last 10 years. I'm absolutely delighted to be a part of the Rest of World team and Mr Ranieri’s management team. We have a great team this year and I'm sure the boys are looking forward to the challenge. It's going to be a great week.”

Jose Mourinho will be in the opposing dugout as he manage takes charge of an England side as part of the annual Soccer Aid event taking place on June 5th.

The match, which takes place at Old Trafford, will see an all-star England team take on the Rest Of The World in aid of children’s charity Unicef.

Louis Tomlinson will be among Mourinho's players as the One Direction man, who has a professional contract with his boyhood club, Doncaster Rovers, will join the likes of Olly Murs, Marvin Humes, Mark Wright and comedians John Bishop and Jack Whitehall, as well as the team’s ambassador, Robbie Williams.

Louis said “I’m really excited to play in this year’s Soccer Aid event. Unicef as a charity, and its workers, continue to amaze me and helping even in this small way was is a privilege.”

It won’t be a walk in the park for Louis and the rest of the England boys as The Rest Of The World team have a strong line up of celebs. Welsh actor, Michael Sheen will captain the team with the likes of Gordon Ramsay and Nicky Byrne in the line-up.

The event has raised over £15 million for the charity since Robbie Williams and Jonathan Wilkes set it up in 2006.
