The family of a missing man from Timperley have joined police in issuing a fresh appeal to the public for any help in finding him.

Today marks one month since Tony Williamson disappeared. He was captured on CCTV footage walking down Greenway towards Park Road on Tuesday 19 December at 11.12am. There have been no reported sightings since.

Extensive searches have taken place around where Tony was last seen, as well as areas he is familiar with and known to go to, and Greater Manchester Police are continuing to deploy extra officers and specialist resources to look for him.

Tony is 62 years old, 6 feet 1 tall, and was last seen wearing blue cargo pants, a blue Berghaus fleece and a black coat. He was also carrying a backpack and was thought to have a small amount of cash on him.

This last month has been incredibly tough for Tony’s family.

Tony's son, Simon, said: "Dad worked for the NHS for 37 years. He took early retirement to spend more time with mum

"For the past 12 months, dad has been suffering with a chronic illness and he has been in continual pain, and it has now got to the point that he feels he's holding us back. We need to let him know that this is not the case.

"We know he has taken a small amount of money so he would have definitely called into a shop.

"We are desperate for him to come home as soon as possible as we are really concerned for his wellbeing, and not knowing where he is is a daily struggle.

"Dad, we love you. Please come home."

Anyone who might have information relating to Tony's disappearance can be shared with GMP by calling 101 and quoting log 1367 of 19 December 2023. In an emergency, you should call 999.

If you don’t want to speak to police and wish to remain anonymous, you can do so by calling independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
