Gemma spoke exclusively to Key 103

Emmerdale actress Gemma Atkinson has received online abuse recently so when she joined Key 103 exclusively for chat we asked her exactly what she thinks of online trolls.

Admitting she doesn’t read any of the negative abuse anymore, Gemma sent out a message to anyone who ever thinks about ‘trolling’ a person.

She said “I used to read them when I was younger, I don’t anymore I’m too busy doing normal stuff in life. I would just say to them that I kind of hope they get help and get kind of happy because I think for anyone to take time out of there day to type nasty comments, they are obviously very miserable and unhappy in their own life. I would just tell them to focus on themselves and not worry about what I’m doing or what I’m wearing.”

Clearly a strong minded individual, the 31-year-old added that the negative comments she receives on her social media sites no longer 'bother' her as she feels you have to ‘value somebody’s opinion’ for somebody to offend you. She said “If it’s my friends or family, I would take it on board and it would affect me. But if its’s a complete stranger, without sounding nasty I don’t really care what they think about me.”

Gemma has received abuse on her Instagram account from strangers. The actress often keeps fans updated with her progress in the gym, but has been subjected to nasty comments left on the Instagram photos.

As well as discussing Internet trolls, Gemma also told out team at Key 103 about that amazing new Emmerdale trailer which seems to insinuate a main character in the show is going to die.

Check it out below:

Gemma revealed that some of the cast felt sick after filming as they were spinning around for hours during filming. However, the actress kept tight lipped about the upcoming mysterious storyline and urged viewers to tune into super soap week.

Viewers of Emmerdale were left devastated last month when character Holly Barton was killed off from the show without any warning. Fans of the show watched on as Holly was found dead after a heroin overdose. After her body was discovered by her emotional mother and brother, fans of the show were in disbelief.
