Cyclist fighting for life after hit by car in Warrington as woman arrested

A cyclist is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a car in Warrington.
Police were called to Priestley Street in Bewsey and Whitecross at around 4:15pm on Friday 14 April following reports of a road traffic collision
Officers discovered that a man who had been riding a bicycle had collided with a white Fiat Qubo near a pedestrian crossing.
The cyclist, a 46-year-old man, is believed to have sustained serious, life threatening, injuries and has been taken to the Walton Centre Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the car, a 50-year-old woman, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. She has since been released under investigation.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dashcam or CCTV footage from around the time of the incident to come forward.
