Cyclist dies five days after being hit by car in Manchester

Police are continuing to investigate what happened

A cyclist has died five days after a being hit by a car in Manchester.

On Sunday 28 August 2022 at around 2.30pm, police were called to the incident on Wilbraham Road which involved a cyclist and an Audi A3 in the Whalley Range area – heading in the direction of Chorlton-cum-Hardy.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward who may have seen the black Audi A3 around the time of the incident. Officers are appealing for witnesses, dashcam and doorbell footage that may have picked up the Audi on the road just before, during, or just after the accident.

PS Phil Shaw, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with the family, who now request privacy as they try to come to terms with the loss of their loved one.

“Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are currently following all line of enquiries. Anyone with any information should contact us on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident 2010 of 29/08/22.”
